During his career, Mark Cueto MBE became the top try scorer in the Aviva Premiership, crossing the line 90 times for Sale Sharks. He also earned 55 caps for England and a place on the wing in a World Cup final.
However, rugby was not always his number one passion. Growing up, football was his sport of choice and it wasn’t until he was 17 years old that he began taking rugby seriously. After almost two decades at the top of Rugby Union, Mark is still helping to drive the game forwards – tackling business as the commercial director at Sale Sharks.
In this interview, Mark talks with me about his playing career; from the early days at Sale playing alongside Jason Robinson and Steve Hanley to the try that never was against South Africa in the 2007 World Cup final; and how having the right mindset is vital for success on and off the pitch.
