“Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go” – Oscar Wilde

What does happiness mean to you? It certainly means different things to different people, and if you were to ask ‘when are you truly happy?’ to a hundred of them, you’d likely get a hundred different answers.

For me, happiness happens when you step back and look at your life and take stock of what you’ve achieved. Walking barefoot along the beach on Rangalli Island earlier this year, hand in hand with Gail, I felt that swell of emotion as I realised how far we had come since our first visit in 2002.

To be truly happy with anything, you have to be happy with yourself. Being able to contribute to the wellbeing and success of others, whether in personal life or in business, is a massive part of happiness and what that word means to me.

It’s important to never forget who you are and where your journey began, but even more important to help others along the way. If I can cause happiness wherever I go then I’ll be a happier man whenever I go.
