I think it was Steve Jobs who advised us all to “stay hungry, stay foolish”. What really strikes me about this is how concise yet hugely valuable this simple instruction actually is. I am a huge believer in the notion that, if you’re not going forwards, you’re going backwards. There is no staying still. It’s the same principle that governs so many things from the natural world. You’re either growing or you’re dying.

It’s so important to never settle. It can be tempting when you have achieved success or reached a goal to sit back on your laurels, and there is a time for reflection but not at the expense of progress. This applies to all areas of life, not only business but relationships and family, even yourself – how can you become a better person?

Life is a work in progress, and it will take a lifetime to complete, so never settle and always stay hungry for more.
