If you’re struggling to keep your New Year’s resolutions, it’s worth keeping this statement in mind. With anything, be it sticking to an exercise routine or turning that negative voice in your head to a positive one, making changes in your life requires consistent practice.

So if you have made a mistake this year or fallen off the wagon, don’t let it send you back to the habits you are trying to break free of. Most of the time, people are tougher than they think and quit when they were almost at the point of victory. Instead, realize that it takes time to build new habits and, if you persevere, you will eventually reach your goals.
