“If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it” – Steve Jobs
I often talk about purpose in a business sense but it’s also a sense of purpose that defines us and the lives we lead. And unless you believe in reincarnation, there is no second chance to come back and live your life again so why settle for something, be it an unfulfilling job or an unsatisfactory relationship, when you could have so much more?
Often, people remain in situations they’re not happy with because it seems convenient. Whilst it might feel easier at the time to stay put, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Excuses will always be there for you. It’s up to you to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and pursue exactly what it is you want out of life. Yes, there will be ups and downs, but ultimately that’s what makes life exciting. Would people enjoy rollercoasters if they travelled along at the same level at the same speed without the peaks and the troughs that provide those feelings of fear, excitement, hope – those feelings of being alive?
So ask yourself, are you settling for second best? If so, it might be time to make some changes…
