Well done to everyone who took part in the BUPA 10k yesterday. As well as running for the pizza and beer awaiting them back at UKFast HQ, our runners were taking part to raise money for several different charities. It’s a yearly event for us, but it never gets any less enjoyable.
There’s such a great sense of camaraderie amongst the people that take part and the feeling in the building afterwards, when everyone’s family and friends join them for a cool down and some congratulatory carbs! It makes me incredibly proud to see the extended UKFast family coming together and showing support for their friends and colleagues.
It’s also worth pointing out that, whilst some of the team are regular 10kers; for others, it was a new experience and something that took a lot of training to do. It goes to show that, often, reaching your goals means pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and enduring periods of discomfort.
However, if you’re mindful of the fact that this feeling is temporary and part of your quest to reach an important goal, there’s nothing you can’t achieve. I’ll see you out on the road…
