Whilst much has been made of a number of issues in the run up to the election, including immigration and the NHS, one question many tech firms will be asking is: where do you draw the line on data surveillance?

cctv_camera_300x225As a hosting provider, we’re happy to hand over servers when there is a court order in place and significant enough suspicion to warrant it.

However, the fact still remains that when you give out control to people, you have to give out some serious deadlines as there is always someone ready to push the boundaries. What we certainly don’t want is individuals having the ability to snoop on our communications data on a whim.

Where do you stand on this issue? Has each party given it enough focus and, if so, do you trust them to protect your online communications from prying eyes?
