For a company that puts such emphasis on having fun, people are sometimes surprised to hear that one of our core values is ‘professional’. Yet, maintaining high standards is so important for any business, no matter what size or industry.
Many businesses start off with the best of intentions, but as relationships develop and you start to get busier, standards can slip. Whether it’s the way people are dressing or the language they’re using, it’s so important to set a boundary below which everyone agrees you won’t fall below.
In life and in business, you get what you tolerate. If you, as the leader of a business, drop litter in the office car park, you’re sending the message to the team that it is acceptable behaviour. Equally, a manager who wears jeans every now and then sends the message that it’s alright for everyone.
In order to maintain high standards, you need consistency across the board.
Why tolerate good when you can be great?
