I was asked to give a talk to a group of employees from a fairly iconic business last week at UKFast. Looking at the potential in the room, the unlimited possibilities that every single individual had to choose from and the ways they could branch out and impact the world, it struck me: How seriously are we taking the success of the people around us?
Are we doing enough to support them?
Imagine where each person you do business with is going to be in 20 years’ time. It’s easy to look at yourself and think, “I’m going to develop and I’m going to get to this point.” Yet it’s just as easy to forget that the people around you are also going to do the same thing; your colleagues or classmates.
Imagine where you will all be in 20 years’ time and you begin to realise how important it is to treat your colleagues and friends as special parts of your life. Build them up along the road and along that journey, and do your best to never let anyone down.
That way, when twenty years have passed, you’re more likely to be living a much happier, more fulfilled life. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
