Having spent more than 16 years at the heart of a hosting provider, I am often asked what the future of cloud is. What do we see on the horizon? What do business leaders need to know?
I attended the Comms Business Convergence Summit today, speaking in one of their auditorium spots, answering exactly this.
For me, it is all about collaboration. And that is something that we could see in abundance at the summit; a huge space filled with channel companies, partnering up to offer more for their clients.
It’s an obvious route for businesses to grow – teaming up to add more to your portfolio while helping others grow theirs. It’s something we see at UKFast too; we don’t just offer our solutions for resellers or partner commission, we return the favour to our clients too, recommending their services to our other clients and partners. That, in my opinion, is how business should be.
It makes life easier for clients who are looking for recommended companies, for partnered businesses who receive that custom, and for us – who have happy clients and partners and reciprocal partnerships. It’s a two-way street.
Cloud has seen such phenomenal growth and evolution in recent years – despite the fact that it has actually been around for decades – and I believe that the future now lies in the people that surround the technology.
We never know what is over the next hill, but we can be sure that technology will always need great people to support it and businesses will always need strong links and relationships with other businesses. It’s as simple as that.
What do you see as the future of cloud?
