Tomorrow, Manchester becomes the comic book in which we create a story that has the potential to change so many lives. The question is, will it be a happy ending?superhero day

Tomorrow is Superhero Day; Key 103 and Cash for Kids’ annual charity day aiming to raise as much money as possible for children in need in the region. This year, we’re incredibly proud to once again be the campaign sponsor, especially as the nominated charity is When You Wish Upon a Star, a charity that helps families to make incredible memories with children who are facing the toughest of times.

The launch night here at UKFast last month was an extraordinarily emotional evening; hearing the stories of families torn apart by illness who were able to take a break, catch their breath and spend all-too-precious time with each other, thanks to this wonderful charity. I was personally very moved, as I am sure you could tell when my opportunity to take the stage arose.

I pledged my donation to the appeal that night and I hope that that has got the ball rolling across the city.

It’s not too late to get involved in this year’s campaign. It’s really easy. You could dress up or bake some cakes to sell, you could share a post or two on social media, or you could simply donate a few pounds.

UKFast Campus will be transformed into a superhero’s paradise with fancy dress, a bake sale and all sorts of activities throughout the day. I’ll also be joining Key 103 for something special in Manchester’s Albert Square later in the day too. What will you be doing? I’d love to see your photos and hear about how you’re joining in on social media or in the comments below.

So to sum up, before I have to go and make sure my superhero outfit is ready, while he may not be a traditional superhero, but I think Buzz Lightyear’s catchphrase more than applies here; tomorrow, let’s aim to infinity and beyond!
