As the business and digital worlds continue to combine, we increasingly need to turn to our crystal balls to work out what we will need in the near future to stay ahead of the curve.
Whilst we, of course, can never be sure what lies around the next corner, we do have access to more information than ever to help us to make the right choices.

It is extraordinary to think about just how much data we have at our fingertips now; there’s no longer any excuse not to have KPIs and informed decision-making across the business.

That being said, how do you know what lies ahead for the year in technology? What do you need to consider as viable business technology and what is a bandwagon to be avoided? The past few years have been awash with buzzwords across both consumer and business technology as we find our feet with emerging technology – 3D TV, virtual reality, big data, cloud, internet of things – but many of those have been flash-in-the-pan trends that require big investment for little return. As business leaders it is our responsibility to distinguish between these trends and what our businesses actually need.
