How much of your day do you spend on the move? Not in the car or on the train but actively moving?
The British Heart Foundation has revealed that more than 20 million people in the UK are physically inactive. That means they’re not meeting the recommended 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week.
When you work 40 or more hours each week, or part-time with a family, it’s hard to fit everything in, even without squeezing in some exercise too, but it’s essential! I do all I can to help the UKFast team to stay fit and healthy.
We’ve got the office gym and gym class schedule (all run by the team themselves), football and netball teams, access to squash courts, and twice-weekly yoga classes here at UKFast Campus. This way, the team can fit their exercise into their lunch breaks rather than it eating into time with their families or activities outside of work.
Yesterday we were joined by BBC News who wanted to take a look around a business who encourages fitness and wellbeing. You may have spotted us on the News at Six on BBC One – albeit briefly!
Exercise is a staple part of my routine; I simply cannot function the same without it. Looking back, I can directly correlate the time of UKFast’s fastest growth with being at the peak of my fitness.
Going for a run or a quick game of squash clears your mind like nothing else.
