Lawrence and Gail Jones Matt Hancock boardroom

Catching up with Matt Hancock MP in the UKFast boardroom.

I am often asked what my greatest piece of advice is. The answer really depends on when you ask me the question and what has happened that day, but more often than not, it comes down to the people around you; most of all never be afraid of asking for help.

It took me years to realise the importance of reaching out to others.

Nowadays there are hundreds of avenues to gain advice; in fact, it can be hard to find the right advice among all of the consultants and bloggers! I would always look for someone with a real story to tell, someone who has been where you are and grown from there. Someone who can relate to you.

Alongside any online advice, find yourself a mentor or someone you admire and respect to bounce your business challenges off. Reach out to other business owners, creatives or even just people who strike a chord with you. if you’re inspired by that person, you’re on the right track!

Ultimately, the most important thing to remember is that you can achieve everything you set your mind to. Write down your goals, they’ll keep you focussed on the journey ahead. Dream big and never give up.
