Now with exactly a year to go until Brexit day, it seems we’re all crossing our fingers that progress speeds up somewhat.
Instead of clear information and strong decisions, the past year has undoubtedly been filled with uncertainty and bickering between the leaders of our country.
What do we know about Brexit?
What we do know is that it is going to be an expensive process. In December 2017, when the terms for the separation were agreed, they included a whopping £39bn divorce bill!
Of course, uncertainty still remains around EU nationals and Theresa May must solve the question of how 3.7 EU nationals will be registered. How will trade be affected?
A year on, we have as many questions as ever, as well as a huge distraction from Russia. But is that surprising? Not when you consider that none of the major players have ever left the EU before. This is a completely new process.
The only thing that is certain is that it’s going to be an interesting year as the government cements our exit deal and we begin life outside of the EU.
