27 December 2018
There are many names for the lull between Christmas and New Year; Twixmas, Witching Week, Chrimbo Limbo. Whatever you call it, it is certainly an odd time of year.
For many, those few days between December 26th and 31st are a time spent with family, resting and eating. However, for some, there’s the unavoidable return to the office. You’re at your desk, in a chilly office, but you could hear a pin drop. It’s a ghost town.
So, how do you make the most of that time, when few others are in the office?
Do that job
We all have a task that has been lingering on the to-do list for a little too long. That job that you’re saving for a ‘quieter time’. Well, now’s your opportunity! Make the most of a quiet office and get that job done. You’ll feel so much better for ticking it off your list ahead of the new year.
There’s no one around, so what’s to stop you from watching Netflix at your desk? Nothing really, but is that worth your time? If you need to be in the office at this time of year, you may as well make the most of your time.
Spend the time planning for the new year. Set your goals and, just as importantly, plot your road map. Which milestones do you need to reach to achieve your goal for the year? What do you want to be celebrating at the end of Q1?
This time in between is perfect for quiet reflection on how far you’ve already come and where you would like to get to.
How will you spend Twixtmas? Let me know in the comments below.
