“The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire. This is your moment. Own it.” – Oprah
What would you do with your life if you knew you couldn’t fail?
We are predisposed as humans to avoid risks and threats. The majority of us love the comfort of routine, of sitting in your comfort zone, but is that really where you want to spend the rest of your life?
All too often, we wait for the ‘right time’ and then let it pass us by. We become so caught up in the mindset that this isn’t the right time that we don’t realise when the opportunity does arise. Or even worse, we believe that it is ‘too late’.
As we get older, the responsibilities build and the risks are higher. Could you afford to change your career path and risk your mortgage? What if? What if? What if?
Here’s what I think: it is ALWAYS the right time and it is NEVER too late.
What if it all went to plan? How would your life change?
We all run on our own time zones, our own paths. Just because one person became a business leader at 25, it doesn’t mean you’re too old to try at 36. Charles Ranlett Flint launched IBM at 61 years old. Ray Kroc was 51 when he first came across McDonalds, and Colonel Sanders was 40 when he opened the first KFC.
Ultimately, when you are passionate about something, there is very little can stand in your way once you take that first step. Invariably that first step is the most terrifying, the biggest leap that anyone could ever make. But you have to ask yourself, would could go right instead of what could go wrong?
Find your way to make your dreams happen. You will never know if you don’t try.
